At EDIH BOOST Robotics, proactive ‘innovation brokers’ play a crucial role. They frequently engage with entrepreneurs and have up-to-date information regarding innovation and digitalisation developments and opportunities. They help identify your needs and guide you to relevant services and facilities provided by BOOST or other parties within the EU EDIH network. The deployment of the brokers is coordinated by Sjoerd Keijzer – Business Development Manager for Innovation at FME.

“In the conversations we have, we always start with an Smart Industry Assessment or a scan. We do this so that the conversation follows a set structure. We then discuss all areas in which digitalisation can be applied, ensuring that nothing is overlooked. Next, we determine areas of relevancy and urgency. As the innovation brokers have a vast network of companies, they are well of aware of the latest trends and developments within the industry. For instance, if someone wants to look at robotic welding, the brokers will guide them toward a field lab or entrepreneur already experienced in this area. Whatever the request, we always ensure a warm handover.”
“At BOOST Robotics we collaborate with various partners. My role is to work with the group of innovation brokers and to establish a collective way of working. Our goal is to represent our mission regarding the importance of digitalisation in a uniform manner. The brokers, including those from Novel-T, Kennispoort Regio Zwolle and RCT Gelderland, are all professional with unique approaches, areas of expertise and experience. They are accustomed to visiting various companies and engaging in discussions with entrepreneurs, members of management or executive teams regarding the future of their businesses. I see it as my responsibility to effectively facilitate and enable these people to effectively do their job. This means that we need to proactively inform our brokers of trends and developments within the market. But, also ensuring that all our data is well organised and that we create and maintain a culture in which we can learn from each other. Ultimately, our goal is to optimise our service to entrepreneurs.”
